Key Features:

• Anatomically Realistic Design: Incorporates essential structures such as the sternum, hyoid, thyroid, cricoid, and tracheal rings. The 3 layered "skin" allows for wet (with fake blood) or dry practice. Each kit has a male and female model; reflecting the differences in the thyroid size and shape, and overall cartilage and trachea size. Tracheal length of 11 cm matches average tracheal length in adults.
• Show Critical Landmarks to Unload Procedural Fear: The high back wall of the cricoid (a hard stop upon insertion of the knife), the thyro-cricoid overlap (keeping the blade from going too far lateral). "The cartilaginous cage will protect."
• 3 Layer Skin Analogue:  Top opaque flesh colored layer is the skin surface, a middle layer is created by adding cotton padding into the pouch.  The bottom, self-adhesive layer, acts as the cricothyroid membrane.  Distinctive "pop" through the cricothyroid membrane. You can add additional layers of cotton to simulate obesity.  Fake blood can be inserted into the skin pouch to create a "bleeding" model.  Blood will ooze out after cutting the top opaque layer of the skin.  Initial purchase includes 200 "skin" pouches plus 200 pre-cut cotton pads.  
• Readily available, inexpensive restocking of skin pouches and padding: Purchase  400 or 1000 extra opaque "skins" through this site, or use 4x4" self-adhesive clear shipping pouches available at any office supply store. 
• 4x4" non-woven cotton padding available through Amazon  or Walmart, or use cast padding, or other cotton materials available in hospital.
• Portable/Lightweight: Case holds two models (male/female), 4 extra tracheas for each model, 200 skins, and cotton padding. Weight < 5 pounds. 
• Durable: Model cases and larynx components are made of ABS strong plastic. Soft durometer tracheas are easily replaceable; each model comes with four extra tracheas for each model (male and female tracheas are different sizes). Kit ships in a sturdy ligtweight nylon corrugated briefacse.
• Washable:  Entire model and box can be rinsed clean after using fake blood.  If adhesive backing of skin adheres to model, this can be removed with GooGone or other adhesive removal product.
• Education by Design:  Easily demonstrate to your trainees common errors including over-insertion (tube extends beyond the length of the trachea when sternum is removed) or hyo-thyroid placement (tube enters esophagus; remove sternum to show positioning). These errors are not demonstrable on any other cric trainer!
